Itinerary
We will come and collect you early at your requested location in Nairobi, to ensure that you’re going to get the most out of your time on safari as possible. An 8am start will ensure you get the most time possible in the parks and surrounded by nature.
As you progress through the Great African Rift Valley, Mount Longonot will provide an epic backdrop, and you will get a glance of Lake Naivasha, which you will visit later. Upon arrival at your chosen accommodation, you will be served lunch.
The afternoon is time for a game drive through Lake Nakuru National Park where the bird spotting and wildlife photography can begin in earnest. Be ready to see a lake quite like none you’ll have seen before: for this one is pink. The flocks of flamingos that make this lake their own turn it all shades of pink with their stunning plumage.
Your game drive will last into the early evening, after which you will return to either your camp or lodge and be served your evening meal. The first day of your African safari includes:
Awake early for breakfast at your accommodation and take a game drive through Lake Nakuru before moving on to the next lake. The morning is an enchanting time on safari, with many animals at peak activity. As well as the flamingos at Lake Nakuru, you will have the opportunity to see:
- Pelicans
- Starlings
- Babblers
- Kestrels
- Plovers
And many more that will have you reaching for your bird-watching binoculars.
Lake Naivasha is a short drive through the valleys of Kenya, and you’ll reach your chosen accommodation in time for your lunch to be served. The afternoon can be spent on your own leisure and you can choose the optional extra activity of taking a boat ride to Crescent Island, which is home to zebras, giraffes, buffalo, and plenty of other creatures you associate with African safari.
In the evening you are invited to join a walk around the lake to once again spot some of the majestic animals that live here and spot the birds that call the lake their home. Following your walk, you will be served dinner at your camp or lodge. The second day of your Kenyan safari includes:
Your morning will be spent exploring Hell’s Gate, one of the smaller parks in Kenya yet as worthwhile as any other park to pay a visit to. Breakfast is served at your lodge or camp before you are driven to the park and prepare to explore the park on foot.
Whether you choose to walk, take a bicycle, or opt for a drive in your safari vehicle, you will spend your morning amid the grace of gazelles, antelopes, zebras, and giraffes.
A highlight of the tour is the chance to pass through the famed gates and take the chance of a photo stop.
Following your exploration of Hell’s Gate National Park, the trip back to Nairobi begins. The journey can be taken at a leisurely pace, with chances to stop to appreciate the Great African Rift Valley as well as take photos of the awe-inspiring landscape.
Lunch will be taken at a stop on the trip back to Nairobi. Your arrival in the capital will be in the early afternoon and you can request a drop off at your hotel, residence, or at the airport, depending on your onward travel plans.
